It started with you being here for the actual surgery and supporting my daughter through the operation and afterward. Your help in the hospital from taking care of my laundry to bringing the newspaper every day-it was so helpful. And being there to bring me home was an enormous help too. I think your encouragement and empathy were very helpful in the hospital.
All the things you took care of from keeping the house clean and buying groceries and cooking my healthy and nutritious meals; picking up prescriptions, driving me to physical therapy and to the doctor were all needed and physically impossible for me to do.
You took me on my first outdoor walk with my walker and supported and encouraged me. You made sure my bathroom was all set up with the appropriate medical equipment before I came home from the hospital and adjusted everything as needed. You helped with the first shower and made sure I could get in and out bed before you left for the evening.
